I always was a big fan of the beggining of the 20th century fashion, since I breathed it from the pictures of my grand-grand mother. Now I am so happy that I can feel it freeze more and more today! That is something what we should not lose touch with. Any other trends I can say ‘bye’ easily, but not this. How beautiful, how fragile and delicate woman feels in it!) Silk and embroidery, pearls, turbans, hats, scarves and flowers! Mmmmm!)
These pictures are from one of my favorite old Russian movies “Slave of Love”. Very romantic and beautiful! And here are some variations inspired by that movie, taken a few years ago.
And by the way, Carrie Bradshaw now in a turban too!)

I had a hardcore shopping week! Wow, ’80's style is everywhere. I was kind of surprised that it hit so hard the whole fashion industry. When in 2004 I saw video of Eric Prydz - Call On Me, I knew it’s coming, but I thought it’s going to be much-much lighter. Now, it finally hit mainstream brands, and I guess, becoming not an inspiration for designers anymore. For me trend is done, as soon as you can see it everywhere, in each store, and on everyone.
I feel something elegant should come for a change…
Next trend… nice light breeze of ‘40s.
Associations: Elegance, Intelligence, Maturity, Royalty, Coco Chanel style, Puritan colors, Independence, and Progressionism!

Just saw Iron Man II. The movie was fun, but I got a comment. Watching Scarlett Johansson in a red dress, firmly confirmed, a bra peeping out of a classic dress is a little vulgar.

They call him androgen. The first man supermodel, who presents man’s and woman’s collections. He was the first man in the history of fashion, who opened woman’s couture collection. Danila has his own fashion line, 100% Vanila. He is an artist, performer, show organizer, businessman and etc. He is a man on heels, balancing between photography and pornography. Danila is a face of Gianfranco Ferre. Men models try to copy him. I can’t not to love him, as everything gorgeous, gifted, unique and freeeeeeee! Inconceivable and incognizable. Don't be a snob. Just watch!

Mode / Fashion / Style

In statistics, MODE is the value that occurs the MOST FREQUENTLY, or the value that is most likely to be sampled. That what the big popular brands do. They do “mode”. This is something what you see on everyone each new season. So, mainstream is the "mode'.

The term "fashion" generally means clothing and the study of it. Therefore, small, new and unique designers hardly can be a ‘mode’, unless they copy popular brands. So, most likely the fashion is in there.

Style. It is not about the words. It's about the feeling behind it. Today, people call fashion everything. Undestanding of fashion and secnce of style cannot be learn, even from glamourous magazines. You can try to follow the latest collectons, and look "stylish" for a couple of days, but on a third day the luck of style will come out.

Anyways, the best accessory is brain, modesty and common sence.
